The thing doesn't offer anything substantial nor does it really encourage new customers to purchase it. It's too expensive. People are defending it saying it offers choice, but I heard Microsoft give the same excuse for the pricing of their SKU's at the beginning of this generation and those same people ripped them apart for it and accused them of being greedy.

I played the FM3 demo and it honestly did not impress me. Some of the environments and background looked stunning but in terms of the actual car models - GT5 Prologue blows it out of the water. Thats not to say FM3 doesn't look great, it does, but they shouldn't have sang the trumpet at E3 in such an arrogant way
I think many people are going to be offended by this article simply because it's Xbox focused and not Sony.
What it shows that its a game largely bought by the hardcore. With Modern Warfare 2 only about 5 weeks out, many would have reconsidered a possible Halo purchase in favour of a new sequel in MW2. Despite that ODST has sold a significant amount by any game's standards. Halo 3 is and will be a unique title in terms of sales.

I bet you Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3 will sell x3 the amount as any PS3 exclusive this year. Heck it'll sell more than Final Fantasy in the West. That's why COD: WoW and COD4 are amongst the highest selling games on the PS3
Not everyone has an issue with the pricing of ODST. 90% of N4G does but then again 90% on the Xbox forums have an issue with the PS3/Sony. That tells you nothing.
What you have here is that people have bought this game in their droves. Clearly 2 million people who bought ODST have no issue with the game or it's price, hence it is unfair to introduce it in your article as something else represented by gaming forums.
Great games deserve great sales and if it doesn't get that, it doesn't make the game any less better. But by the same token, once we establish that sales do not equate to quality, we can't then pressume ODST isn't something that deserves it's sales which is precisely what most on N4G will spin this to. If it gets good reviews, it's still crap. If it sells amazing well, it's still crap. Oh wait - it's Halo, it's Microsoft; it is crap guaranteed before you even see the first screenshots or vide...

The suggestion is EA exclusivity to 360 = 360 hardware sales jump massively
I think many people would have expected a slightly higher figure for Sony but 500K is great nonetheless and surprisingly respectable sales for Microsoft too - it doesn't seem like it has cut much into their market demographic. The biggest tell factor however is to see how these figures change throughout the next few months. Everyone felt that Sony would have a boost in hardware sales but the fall numbers could be the most important in this generation.
